Metabolic Health:
From Dysfunction to Flourishing
Most people think metabolism is how quickly you burn calories.
It's so much more than that.
Your metabolism is the sum of the chemical processes that keep you alive. It's how your body converts food into energy, regulates hormones, repairs cells, fights infection, powers your brain, and decides whether to store or use nutrients.
When these processes become disrupted, your body can't produce and use energy efficiently. This metabolic dysfunction often begins long before disease—and affects nearly every aspect of health.
Why It Matters
When metabolism becomes dysregulated, the effects can extend far beyond blood sugar. It's commonly associated with insulin resistance, prediabetes, type 2 diabetes, and PCOS, but it's also increasingly linked to cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer's disease, infertility, fatty liver disease, and certain cancers.
The challenge is that metabolic dysfunction often develops silently. Many people don't realize there's a problem until it becomes a diagnosis, even though their body has been sending signals for years.
Why I Created This Program
I didn't fit the stereotype. I wasn't overweight. I exercised regularly. I ate what I considered to be a healthy diet. Then I was diagnosed with PCOS, and my lab work pointed to insulin resistance and prediabetes. It didn't make sense. So I doubled down. I cleaned up my diet even more and continued doing everything I thought I was supposed to do.
About a year later, my symptoms had somewhat improved but I was still feeling off. I decided to wear a continuous glucose monitor (CGM). I assumed it would confirm I was on the right track. Instead, it completely changed the way I think about health.
I realized we've become obsessed with asking whether a food is healthy, but that's only part of the equation. The other part is the condition of the system receiving the food. Two people can eat the exact same meal and have completely different metabolic responses.
Why a Continuous Glucose Monitor?
A CGM won't tell you why your glucose is dysregulated but it provides a real-time window into how your body responds to food, movement, sleep, stress, and everyday life. It can reveal patterns that routine lab work often misses and help identify where to ask deeper questions.
It's one of the most valuable tools for making the invisible visible.
A Personalized Approach
A CGM is just one piece of the puzzle.
I combine your glucose data with your health history, symptoms, lifestyle, and goals to better understand what's happening beneath the surface and develop a strategy tailored to your unique biology.
For those who want an even deeper level of personalization, genetic analysis is available as an optional add-on. Your genes don't determine your destiny, but they can offer valuable insight into how your body is predisposed to process nutrients, regulate blood sugar, respond to exercise, and more.
